Well like the email said I got my pack on Monday, but to be honest I was a little disappointed in it.
Getting it did feel like a step in the right direction and a little step closer to Disney but it never gave me any info that I didn't already know. It just gave me a Disney paper folder which I will be using to keep all my stuff in when I get round to printing it off.
Still haven't had a answer from work about taking the year out, I'm going to wait another week and then maybe ask again, I don't want to pester them but I would like an answer as it would give me a little relief to know that I don't have to worry about finding a job when I get back.
Also 11 days until I am going down to Birmingham to meet up with fellow cast members, its going to be good!!! I'm sure we will have such a ball.
Then the following weekend I am meeting up with other Disney folk in Glasgow, but this time its mainly people who have been out before so it will give me a good chance to pick their brains about it.
I have been reading over a lot of what people who have been out there have been saying about the differences between Merch and F&B, and even though I am happy about getting merch as that is where I would say I have the most experience, I am getting the feeling that because it has a smaller group of staff compared to the F&B side its not going to be as good an experience. I mean I know that it is all about what you make of it but there is the financial limits of merch compared to the tipped positions in f&b which could put a bit of a downer on things when you can't afford to do things that maybe some of your friends in f&b are doing because they might be earning in tips for one day more than what you earn in a week in merch. It is starting to make me think I should have asked for f&b first but then again I'm sure I will have a great time in my role in merch no matter what. After all it is working in Disney, the happiest place on earth.
